Considerations When Choosing An Industrial Vibrating Table

Industrial vibrating equipment is a must-have for most contractors. There are many types of industrial vibrating equipment depending on the type of project being undertaken. One of the most used vibrating equipment is the vibrating table. An industrial vibrating table is designed with a high power vibrating motor installed on a table-shaped stand. It is essential in industries that use the conveyor system in production.

Some of the common uses of industrial vibrating tables include the following.

  • Sorting items coming off a conveyor or other equipment
  • Removing air from concrete molds in precast factories.
  • Removing bubbles in sealed liquid containers
  • Settling and compacting powdered industrial products in packaging boxes
  • Settling activated carbon inside filter cartridges

There are different types and configurations of industrial vibrating tables; therefore, when choosing one, the following factors should be considered.

Type of vibration

Industrial vibrating tables produce vibrations in an up and down linear movement or a circular movement. Vibrating tables with an up and down movement are designed with two vibration motors. They are suitable for applications that involve sorting, settling and compacting products in bulk boxes and bags. Vibration tables with a circular movement consist of one motor installed under the table. They are suitable in applications that require removing air and bubbles from liquid containers and concrete molds in construction projects.

Size of vibrating table

Since vibration tables come in different sizes, it is important to have one that corresponds to the container sizes and load weight. The size of the table will have a direct impact on the type of vibration motor being used. It should have enough power to effectively manage the vibrations. The size of the vibrating motor to be used will also be determined by the space available on the table. For diverse industrial jobs, a large-size vibrating table should be used to accommodate different container sizes. Smaller tables are suitable for small-size settling and compacting jobs.

Source of power

Industrial vibrating tables can be electric-powered, hydraulic-powered or pneumatic. The most suitable type of vibrating table depends on the most used, economical and readily available source of power. All these types of tables allow for adjustment of the intensity of vibration through vibration control equipment. Some configurations also come with remotely controlled vibration control equipment.

Custom-made vs. ready made

While most vibrating tables are usually ready-made, you can have a custom-made table to meet the requirements of the project. The most custom-made vibrating tables are grid-deck type tables that vibrate in a circular motion. They are usually customised since the vibrating equipment is usually installed in a roller conveyor system, which vary in size and configuration.
